LISTENING PROGRAMS

We offer Berard Auditory Integration Therapy (AIT) and Integrated Listening Systems (ILs) as part of auditory/ sound training methods. ListeningTherapy may be done alone or part of a therapy intensive program. Listening Programs range three (3) to five (5) days/week for 30 to 60 minute sessions. Programs run from two (2) to twelve (12) weeks depending on the specific program selected. Your child's program will be individually tailored to best meet his/her needs. Your child may require audiological testing by a qualified audiologist.

WHAT IS INTEGRATED LISTENING SYSTEMS/ ILs?

Building upon the psychoacoustic techniques originally developed in Europe and further refined over the past 8 years in the U.S. by Dynamic Listening Systems (DLS), iLS programs combine auditory stimulation with balance, movement and visual motor activities. The design of iLs programs is based around the listening component. Each product has a specific listening schedule, into which the balance and visual activities are included.

iLs professional programs (for the iLs Pro and iLs 1000) are typically 30 sessions in length, with a frequency of 3 or more sessions per week. Each session is 80 to 90 minutes long, with the integrated activities built into the program.

WHAT IS AIT/ AUDITORY INTEGRATION TRAINING?

Auditory Integration Training efficiently retrains a disorganized auditory system and improves hearing distortions and sound sensitivity. Berard AIT is an educational intervention with over 30 years of scientific research and 28 clinical studies. Participants listen through headphones to modulated music on an auditory integration training device for 20 sessions of 30 minutes each, for a total of 10 listening hours, over 10 (or 12) consecutive days, under the direct supervision of a Berard AIT Practitioner. There are NO "at home" programs or "CD's for home use" ever approved for use with the scientific Berard AIT protocol.Read more.
